The Ministry of Interior today launches the distribution of voter summonses and opens an electronic platform for voting by proxy for Moroccans residing abroad, in preparation for the legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026.

Starting today, Monday, August 24, 2026, the Ministry of Interior began the process of distributing voter summonses that determine the voting office to which each voter belongs, in preparation for the legislative elections scheduled for September 23. This step comes within the framework of logistical preparations that supervise local authorities at the national level. # # How are voters told? The local authorities will deliver paper invitations to voters that include the address of the voting office for each of them, along with the polling date and the timing of the opening and closing of the offices. The distribution process continues until 22&nbs p;September at six o'clock in the evening, one day before polling. The ministry explained that these summonses are not mandatory to vote, as the national identification card remains the only official document required to enter the polling station, which means that the absence of the summons does not deprive any voter&n bsp;of his right to vote on September 23. # # An electronic platform for proxy voting for Moroccans abroad In parallel with the distribution of invitations inside Morocco, the Ministry of Interior has also opened, as of today, an electronic platform dedicated to Moroccans living abroad, which remains available until September 22 at This platform, which can be accessed at www.elections.ma or www.listesectorales.ma, allows every Moroccan voter residing outside the country to grant a power of attorney to vote on their behalf to one of the registered voters inside Morocco. # # Why does this action matter? constitutes the distribution of calls and the opening of a platform& the power of attorney is the first concrete practical step felt by the citizen in preparation for the upcoming legislative elections, after a series of administrative and regulatory procedures.
