Marsa Maroc reported a 13% rise in consolidated revenue to 3.214 billion dirhams in H1 2026, as the port operator invests 3.4 billion dirhams in the new Nador West Med terminals.
Marsa Maroc, the Kingdom's leading port operator, reported a 13% rise in consolidated revenue to 3.214 billion dirhams in the first half of 2026, compared with the same period last year, according to the Group's quarterly financial statement as of June 30, 2026. Revenue growth outpaced the increase in cargo volumes, driven by improved logistics services.
Port traffic
Total cargo handled by the Group reached 34.5 million tonnes at the end of June 2026, up 3% year-on-year. The figure hides contrasting trends across cargo categories: domestic container traffic and bulk cargo grew, while transshipment traffic declined.
| Cargo category | Volume | Change vs 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic containers | 697,594 TEU | +7% |
| Transshipment containers | 822,666 TEU | -4% |

| Liquid bulk | — | +6% |
The growth in solid bulk cargo is mainly attributed to higher Moroccan imports of animal feed and scrap metal, according to the Group's quarterly financial disclosure.

Marsa Maroc committed 3.4 billion dirhams in investments during the first six months of the year, mainly directed toward developing port infrastructure and acquiring equipment for the new terminals at the Nador West Med port, as part of its capacity-expansion strategy.

Why it matters
Marsa Maroc, majority state-owned, is the Kingdom's leading port operator and plays a central role in Morocco's foreign trade through the ports of Casablanca, Tanger Med, Agadir, Safi and Jorf Lasfar, among others. The Group's continued investment in the new Nador West Med port confirms its bet on strengthening Morocco's position as a regional logistics hub, while it maintains a comfortable financial position with a net cash surplus of over one billion dirhams.
