How does the registration process work?
The ministry explained that the candidacy procedure involves two successive and mandatory steps: first, an electronic declaration through the official portal www.elections.ma, which the ministry describes as a "mandatory stage" that cannot be skipped before any physical filing; second, the submission of original documents to the competent authority. The electronic platform will close on September 8, 2026, at noon, one day before the physical filing deadline ends. Candidacy files for local constituencies are submitted to prefectures and provinces, while those for regional lists are filed at regional headquarters (wilayas).
Equipped facilities and support for candidates
The Interior Ministry said equipped spaces will be made available inside prefectures, provinces and municipalities to receive candidacy applications, and will remain open even during weekends and public holidays to make things easier for candidates and their representatives. The representative in charge of filing a candidacy is allowed to bring one companion during the process.

Once the candidacy filing period closes, the official campaign for parties and candidates will run from September 10 to 22, 2026, before Moroccan voters head to the polls on September 23, 2026, to choose their representatives in the House of Representatives.
