The National Council of the Independence Party voted unanimously to authorize General Secretary Nizar Baraka to lead negotiations for the party's participation in the government of Fatima al-Zahra al-Mansouri, at a time when the Party of Authenticity and Modernity formed its own committee to negotiate amid a conflict over the position of the National Rally of Liberals.
