Hakimi and Bouaddi: Morocco's Squad Value Tops €600 Million
Morocco's squad market value tops €600 million, a first for an African national team according to Transfermarkt, with Ayoub Bouaddi the most valuable Moroccan at €90 million.
The market value of Morocco's national football team has passed the €600 million mark for the first time in the history of African national teams, with the "Atlas Lions" setting a new record that reflects the steady rise of the current generation of players at Europe's top clubs. According to Transfermarkt, the site that specialises in player valuations, the squad's total value reached €605.85 million, after it first crossed the €500 million mark following its World Cup 2026 quarter-final.
Bouaddi tops the list of most valuable Moroccans
Ayoub Bouaddi, the 19-year-old Manchester City player, leads the list of the most valuable Moroccan players with a market value of €90 million, up from €80 million last July, making him the most valuable Moroccan player in history, ahead of national team captain Achraf Hakimi, valued at €80 million. Bouaddi moved to Manchester City this summer from French club Lille.
Ismael Saibari is third at €55 million, followed by Abdessamad Ezzalzouli at €40 million, while Brahim Diaz and Bilal El Khannouss share fifth place at €35 million each, and Nael El Aynaoui, son of Moroccan tennis legend Younes El Aynaoui, comes next at €30 million.

A new generation worth €20 million
Alongside the front-line stars, a wave of young talents has emerged, each valued at €20 million: Yassir Zabiri, striker at Spain's Racing Santander, who has drawn attention with his performances in La Liga, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, the Stade Rennais player on the rise, and Yassine Gessime, the Strasbourg winger who has become a target for major European clubs.
What does this figure mean?
Passing the €600 million mark reflects the growing weight of Morocco's national team in the global transfer market, driven by the move of several of its players to clubs in Europe's top five leagues in recent years. Observers say this rise increases the Atlas Lions' bargaining value in the transfer market and strengthens their standing as one of the most prominent rising national teams in Africa and worldwide ahead of upcoming continental and international tournaments.
