The Moroccan rowing team won 10 medals (gold, silver and seven bronze) at the African Championship in Tunis, Tunisia, to be fourth out of 11 teams behind Tunisia, Egypt and Algeria.

The Moroccan rowing team (Averon) concluded its participation in the eighteenth edition of the African Rowing Championship, hosted by Tunis at the end of last September, with a total of 10 medals: one gold, two silver and seven bronze medals. The Moroccan delegation ranked fourth out of 11 participating teams, behind Tunisia, Egypt and Algeria. Sarah Ghazzaz gold tops the Moroccan tally The only gold medal for Morocco came from the share of the athlete Sarah Ghazzaz in the single female boat race under 23 years old (heavy weight), while Ayoub Sabri scored silver in the male category under 23 years old by the same classification. Egypt came in second place, while Algeria came third with 13 medals, before Morocco concluded its participation in fourth place out of 11 teams that participated in this edition. Why this achievement matters This outcome represents one of the most prominent Morocco's participation in the sport of rowing at the continental level in recent years, especially since the majority of Moroccan medals came from the youth categories under 19 and 23 years old, which reflects the presence of a promising young base that can represent Morocco in the future in continental and international forums. The Royal Moroccan University of Rowing has not issued any official statement about these results until the publication of this article.
