What's next for the Atlas Lions
Morocco will close out the group stage on Friday at 20:00 against Libya, before entering the semi-finals scheduled for Monday, 19 October, also in Rabat and at the same time, against the runner-up of Group B (made up of Egypt, Angola, Mozambique and Tanzania), provided it keeps top spot in its group.
Context: a strong start to a home tournament
Morocco had opened its campaign in the competition with another big win over Algeria (4-0) on the opening matchday, going into the Zambia match full of confidence. National coach Hicham Dguig is leading the Atlas Lions through this edition held on Moroccan soil, hoping to add to the continental titles the team has won in previous editions. This early semi-final qualification, secured a full matchday before the end of the group stage, gives the team breathing room as it prepares for the tournament's decisive phase on home ground.
This edition carries special weight for Moroccan fans, who get to follow the Atlas Lions on home soil after several continental futsal titles won in the past. The upcoming matches in Rabat, against Libya and then in the semi-final, are expected to draw strong crowds, continuing the momentum built by the wins over Algeria and Zambia.
